Choose appropriate care and clear instructions for home.
Reassess healing and adjust the plan when needed.
WHEN TO REACH OUT
A wound that stays open, repeatedly breaks down or is not improving should be assessed. You do not need to wait weeks to ask for help—especially if you have diabetes or circulation problems.
Evaluation of foot ulcers and skin breakdown, with attention to pressure, sensation and circulation.
Assessment of wounds associated with swelling, circulation concerns or prolonged pressure on the skin.
Support for wounds that are slow to close after surgery or injury, coordinated with your treating clinician when appropriate.
CARE THAT STARTS WITH THE CAUSE
Your visit starts with your health history, medications, prior treatments and a wound examination. We look for issues that may need attention, such as infection, pressure, swelling, blood flow or blood sugar.
Your clinician explains the next steps, which may include wound cleansing and dressing selection, pressure relief, testing or specialist coordination. Advanced treatments are considered individually when appropriate.
The treatment and visit schedule depend on your wound. Healing time varies; no specific outcome can be guaranteed.

GETTING STARTED
01
Tell us you need a wound-care visit. We will clarify scheduling, the appropriate location and any referral requirements. Ask about office or home-visit availability for your situation.
02
Have your insurance card, medication list, discharge instructions and recent wound-care records available. A caregiver can help share your history and current routine.
03
Understand your dressing instructions, follow-up timing and the changes that should prompt a call or urgent medical attention.
Medically necessary wound care may be covered by insurance. Coverage depends on your plan, network, referral requirements and the treatment recommended. Deductibles, copays or authorization requirements may apply.
Our team can help clarify benefits and discuss self-pay costs before planned care.
Insurance & self-pay information ↗We welcome coordination with primary-care clinicians, discharge teams and home-health providers. Contact our team to discuss the patient’s needs and arrange secure transfer of records.
Referral information ↗Please do not send wound photos or medical records through general website chat.
That depends on your insurance and care needs. Call with your plan information so our team can explain the next step.
Call to discuss a wound recheck or ongoing wound care. Bring your discharge instructions and continue your surgeon’s directions unless your treating clinician changes them.
Explore wound & injury follow-up after the ER ↗Contact our team to confirm current availability, service area and whether your wound can be appropriately managed in that setting. Some wounds require an in-person clinic or hospital evaluation.
Not every wound needs an advanced treatment. Your clinician will first assess the cause, prior care and progress, then discuss appropriate options or referrals. Availability and insurance approval vary.
Seek prompt medical attention for spreading redness, increasing pain, pus, fever or a wound that is getting worse. For uncontrolled bleeding, confusion, trouble breathing or other emergency symptoms, call 911 or go to the emergency department.
